About Congo Voyages

Congo Voyages is a young, but well-experienced team who’s assisted by Congo veterans and can also count on the help and advice of the Ministry of Tourism. Our main offices are located in Pointe-Noire, Brazzaville, Kinshasa and Lubumbashi and we have a broad network of guides and partners all over the two Congo’s and The Central African Republic. We are passionate about our country and love to interact with other cultures, sharing the beauty Congo has to offer. Together we have led all kinds of expeditions and missions in all corners of Congo.

In Congo-Brazzaville we have had several successful missions to places such as Lake Télé, the Congo Basin, Odzala National Park, Nouabalé-Ndoki, Conkouati, Lefini, the Mayombe, river explorations, fishing trips and much more. We have set up private train trips in the Mayombe Forest and have helped people successfully overland to Gabon, Cameroon, the DRC and the Central African Republic. Our local team leader in Congo-Brazzaville, mr. Badji and his wife’s were the first Congolese to build a hostel in Congo and this right  in the middle of the Mayombe Forest, meaning they have decades of working with tourists.

In Congo-Kinshasa we have extensive knowledge of Kinshasa, Bandundu and Kongo-Central and have assisted many photographers in meeting with sapeurs, voodoo wrestlers and mysterious sects and churches such as Tata Gonda or the Kimbanguists. We have led bonobo safaris and set up expeditions in where we stay among the pygmy tribes in the regions of Tshopo and Equateur as well as wildlife expeditions deep in the Salonga National Park. We have assisted documentary makers, photographers and tourists going to exclusive places such as diamond mines in Mbuji-Mayi and Tshikapa and have taken care of their logistics, permits and making their missions hassle free. We have also done numerous missions, often in collaboration with the government in places such as Virunga, Kahuzi Biega, Garamba, Okapi Wildlife Reserve among others and have assisted Rovos Luxury Train in Lubumbashi, from where we also run tours in Katanga. Besides trips and visits, we also have received several VIP’s at the airport in which we have taken care of their security, for which we closely work with the airport authorities, immigration and the Republic Guard.

Make no mistake, we are the only agency in Congo who’s capable of successfully leading these tours thanks to our experience, knowledge and broad network of contacts. Due to our excellent relations with the authorities, we are able to handle all kinds of requests. Do not believe (fake) operators who often operate from Uganda, Rwanda (or even Spain!) who copy our itineraries and claim they can handle these tours. If they even bother to show up, you will get in (serious) problems due to their lack of knowledge and often even have never set foot in the places they try to promote. If the price is too good to be true, it most likely is.

We are often approached by companies to help them set up their logistics in isolated destinations and to help them with complicated projects all around the countries, such as cargo, transport, permits, security and others. Several of our team members are in the photography and film business, so we know all the necessary processes and paperworks to get your film or photography project in Congo green-lighted and we have assisted photographers, documentary makers and journalists before all over the country, besides making also short promo and documentary material for the government ourselves. We can also set up photo sessions with sapeurs, sects, cults, churches, artists and fashion models.

We have also led many expeditions in the Central African Republic, especially to Dzanga Sangha, both overland and by private plane and we also have a great partner in Gabon, with whom we run trips to Lopé National Parks, gorilla tracking and much more. So, don’t hesitate to contact us for a customized trip in Gabon or The Central African Republic.
